Organizing My Thoughts - Journal May 31, 2022

I'm thinking that I want 3 different sites on probably github.

  • One is just a blog for keeping track of my thoughts on a dated basis. Right now it's this repo: "https://github.com/terryinfcco/GT_blog". This might also be suitable for my learning log. Just have to make sure to do categories correctly so I can go back and find stuff.
  • One is for documentation and taking notes as I work through courses. Right now it's an mkdocs instance that I'm using: "https://github.com/terryinfcco/mkdocs". Probably need to rename.
  • The third is for planning - maybe an mkdocs instance. It would have 2 sections. One would be perhaps kinds of stuff. Probably an index page with the titles each referring to a detail page. The other would be a todo list. Again with an index page that has entries to detail pages. This doesn't exist yet. Created - in "https://github.com/terryinfcco/new_mkdocs". Probably need to rename.

Learning - Journal May 26, 2022

I want to be more organized. I want to use this Learning Log to plan what I want to accomplish on a regular basis. It's not difficult to keep up, even though I won't be able to do updates on my tablet or phone. But it would be pretty easy if I really want to capture something to put it in Google Keep and just copy over and format the next day.

If I really want to accomplish things, I think the best way is to write python tkinter apps. Again I won't be able to update them on my tablet or phone, but again I can put stuff in Google Keep and update the next time I'm at a computer.

grandpaterry.xyz

I've been pretty focused on grandpaterry.xyz and my photo uploading. It's in pretty good shape. I have a lot more pictures to go through and uploading and tagging is a pain.

Today: * I started going through a folder * Picked out a dozen pictures to upload * Deleted all the pictures that I had sifted through * Uploaded and tagged them.

I'm really pleased with the photo WordPress website I've built over the last two days. Just have a zillion photos (both Dad's and mine) to go through. I probably will get started and try to upload some small number every day.

  • Liked the todo list flask thing I saw on YouTube yesterday. Actually looks a lot like Joplin in layout.
  • So far I'm still feeling that I like the mobile Joplin apps better than the desktop.

  • Figured out enough guizero to make the clock timer for the Raspberry Pi with the 4 inch screen.
  • Made a journal that works in Jekyll
